Vodafone Egypt sponsors and supports the 2012 “S3Geeks Tech Train”, which aims to spread technological awareness and to forge connections with the Upper Egypt’s youth who are into ICT, and entrepreneurship. Eng. Mohammed Al-Ayouti, Vodafone Xone Senior Manager, stated that Vodafone is keen to sponsor this promising initiative to promote and support Egyptian youth, help them implement their innovative ideas, and disseminate technological awareness among them. Vodafone is keen on supporting youth who seek to implement and finance their projects via providing guidance, consultations and funding. It supports start-ups and removes all obstacles that might hinder them as they launch their startups.

He added that, “Being a leading company in the Egyptian Internet market, it is our duty to provide young technical entrepreneurs with all possible support. Those youth can promote their local communities, which will have a positive impact on the society as a whole”. He stressed that the initiative aims to develop technical knowhow, enrich Arabic content on the internet, promote entrepreneurship among university students and fresh graduates, and empowers them with the technological tools which will boost their market competitiveness and promote their start-ups. He further added that Vodafone has set certain goals for this initiative, amongst which are; to promote entrepreneurship in a bid to fight unemployment, provide new job opportunities, and help establish and develop new projects to forge the Egyptian economy ahead.

Al-Ayouti stated that Vodafone’s success in the Youth and Entrepreneurship Support Initiatives came through Vodafone Xone. It provides financing and incubation for innovative projects, holding contests to discover talents, and has launched a developer portal to stay in touch with them. Vodafone Xone aims at helping young entrepreneurs achieve prominent visibility in the technological market, through supporting and empowering small start-ups and encouraging them to work, toil and innovate to help their projects flourish.
