MTN, Ghana’s leading telecommunications company, on Monday launched a new platform in partnership with Facebook dubbed: “0.facebook.com” that allows subscribers to interact with the company on the most active social network free of charge.
“MTN Ghana with its fastest internet, widest coverage and with the biggest community as a market leader with over 10.5 million subscribers on its network, finds it exciting to give its customers the opportunity to link up with friends at no cost on Facebook,” Mr Rahul De, Chief Marketing Officer at MTN said at the launch.
He said the new platform was the first online and radio launch of any product in the telecoms industry.
“0.Facebook.com is the strongest driver for the mobile internet access. This is why Facebook has partnered several telecom companies all over the world to offer free access to their site without any data fee,” he said.
He said the company in partnership with Facebook would provide access for customers to connect with friends, families and business contacts.
“We have the capacity in place to ensure that subscribers experience the fastest internet connectivity,” he added.
He said the company has built three high capacity switch and data centers in Accra and Kumasi to support the provision of high speed internet access to subscribers.
He expressed the hope that subscribers would find the unique experience of accessing facebook for free to interact for their problems to be solved.
