Of several existing Open-source Content Management System software, perhaps Joomla and Drupal are the most outstanding. I've been trying my hand on both (self-tuition) but have had difficulty to decide which to regularly use to build sites.
Do we have someone here who could advise me or send useful links?

Thanks. Title, author? (just in case I have it as eBook already)

Hi Daniel

I use Drupal - self taught like you and it was an steep learning curve.  I just kept trying and when I got stuck I would search the discussion groups.  So mostly I got the help I needed from casting around.

I have heard that Joomla has more in the way of support documentation and probably more free themes.  But I have also heard that Drupal is more powerful in what it can do.  I can't vouch for either of these statements, but anyway,  I'm reluctant to change now that I have mastered Drupal (at least to beginners level).  I really like it and it does what I want in terms of creating social, interactive sites.

Good luck with your project.

I have been using Drupal and wordpress too, both self-taught. I think they are cool. Good luck with your project though.

are you in Dar es Salaam?? I work with both Drupal & Joomla.  we could compare notes/experience and perhaps you could focus on one or the other.  Personally I spend more time on Drupal, maybe because it was the first one I learned, though I have lectured on both CMS's
